When did you start to think about photography?
My mom bought for me a compact camera 4 years ago, and I brought it with me everywhere. After one year, I got bored with it and later my curiosity for the old camera so I bought myself the film camera Canon AE1. Now I only using film, well, digital photography is great but I just can’t see the poetic inspiration in it. The great thing about film is my 100th film rolls still feels the same like the 1st one, always exciting how the picture would be.
What does photography mean to you? and which kind of photography do you like more?
I can’t imagine how my life will be without photography, It definitely will be very boring. Photography for me is like the diary, I don’t write diary so I decide to take a picture instead.
I like all kind of photography, so that’s why I try to shoot as much as I could, specially on adventures and just capture what goes on; it usually makes for some great moments captured in time.
When you take a portrait, what is important for you?
I really like the quote “Every picture tells a story”. My personal opinion about the good portraits is not about perfect light or beautiful model, it is what I feel in the picture. That’s why I keep doing my works although some people have said that my photos are not sharp in focus, or too dark…
Do you think it’s important to follow a school to learn how to shoot?
I’m self taught photography, after destroying some first rolls I learned how take a good picture… But it doesn’t mean that I don’t want to study professional photograhy, its great lessons for my bad technique and opportunity to be be with like-minded people.
What’s the photo you want to take and you never did?
I would love to take a natural nude photography, unfortunately none friends of mine say yes. I wish Vietnamese girls had more courageous and self-confident to be taken naked photos.
What’s your photo-mission?
Keep going.
