Designer duo Wouter Baartmans and Amber Siegel have created an effortless masculine-style with flourishes of playful innovation for the SS16 collection. Garments of distress create relief and an armour of relevance.
The setting for the presentation was based on a motel scene, where lighted cactuses were placed all around the room, creating that North America and desert vibes. The collection continued to play with the importance of functionality and indulgence, comfort and style. Lightweight, soft marl wool, grey, white, green and navy colours were spotted in this spring collection, which emphasising the strength of the Appaloosa Ponies, native to America.
The ‘Swamo-multi-pocket-Jacket’ was introduced in this SS16 collection, nonchalant and purposeful. Other outwear was separated into sporty and statement, crafted in a mixture of woven-memory-crinkle, paper-light Italian performance fabrication and twill coated cottons. Other statement outwear showed a level of maturity such as oversized coat, rain-coats and leather biker jacket. Luxuries sporty trousers and shorts were worn by models at the presentation. They looked very comfortable and unique, especially with those refreshing green prints on the white shorts, very summery and cowboy vibes.
Overall, I enjoyed the show/ presentation. This collection has added something new to the menswear, with wearable and unique design.
