Birkenstock is a family company with a great tradition, over 230 years of innovation in the fine art of shoemaking.
Made in Germany since 1774, the company has developed from a simplistic style of two- strap sandal, with impeccable quality and design structure to a wide variety of products in order to keep step with the customers’ high standards.
Manual work and attention to detail, green sensibility, using long-lasting materials, and attractive models, all for the clients’ sake.
The shoe design structure is very interesting, it is built layer by layer, using raw materials like the purest, super light cork, latex milk, jute, and natural air permeable and breathable leather and not at last environment-friendly adhesives. The products are designed to suit every taste and need, using the original Birkenstock footbed, inspired by the natural imprint of a foot in the sand which gives a great comfort experience and makes you feel like walking barefoot in favor of a natural walking motion and healthy feet. Despite their traditional style, the company brings fresh and innovative collections each year.
The new Birkenstock collection for Winter/Autumn 2014 presents a variety of colours, mix of materials and textures, from a Casual-Look to a Sphicticated, Confortable – Look.
The new collection comes with a very modern and authentic style, still keeping the comfort line. A range of natural materials, as crocodile leather style, painted leather, shearling, suede, bold leather or felt.
The children’s collection comes up with a great design variety of street – wear style, using prints on natural materials, jointing tradition with modernity.
Birkenstock encourages Creativity, giving a special touch to their limited edition in collaboration with the Swiss Designer based in Munich, Patrik Muff.
This collaboration developed into a special collection of sandals, made of soft calf leather with crocodile embossing, ornate with handmade buckles.
Birekenstock is not just a choice of wear style, it’s a style of life, eco- friendly, comfortable and healthy.
We met one of the brands biggest fans at the Bread & Butter in Berlin; the fashion street photographer Phil Oh, who love Birkenstock shoes, especially the most colorful ones.
