Alex Simms is twenty years old photographer from West Virgina, USA.
I’ve been taking photos since I was fourteen, and in a span of six years, I feel really content with the “characters” I’ve introduced in my life to people. As I’m apparently no longer considered a teen (as if to have gone through some kind of metamorphosis overnight whilst turning into an “adult”), I feel like I want to make this sort of transition more apparent.
Now going against only giving glimpses of the people I share my life with and mistakenly making it seem as though everything looks “dreamy” and picture-esque, I also want to photograph those I surround myself with more consistently. Now, instead of a “movie” with chunks of my life displayed, I want to try showcasing people/my friends more realistically as they are in everyday life, maybe preferably around the idea of happiness. I guess you could look at it like a TV show. It may seem like a demotion from a movie, but think of it as a chance for more character development. Besides, I hear my 20’s will be one of the most memorable times of my life (hopefully???)
