The CMMN SWDN AW16 collection continued with their sartorial groundwork from last season. The collection is inspired by ‘Dornus’ which means home in Latin. ‘The collection was about looking at clothes as an extension of your home’ one of the CMMN SWDN’s designer Sail Bakir descried.
The collection is very simple, earthy, warmth and comfort, and has a slight late 70s/80s vibes to it as a lot of cool tone brown colour was used in the garments. As Sail Bakir has said, the AW16 collection is inspired by ‘Home’ – leather and suede, denim were found in the collection. I particularly like the boxy, cropped fit dominates jackets and tops while high waists and slim legs trousers look. But the most outstanding piece must be that unlined full-length duffel coat with raw edges, very smarts and causal at the same, perfect for any occasions.
