Armed with an analog camera and a group of friends, 18 year old photographer Skylar Leaf set out to explore nature that surrounded him. Inspired by photographs he found on the internet Skylar began to become more and more consumed by photography.
Before he knew it he realized that he had somewhat of a project on his hands. Skylar’s photography is purely documentary and is founded in capturing honest and unique moments. “I just photograph whatever is going on in my life at that time.” Skylar says. “There are a lot of moments that pass us by and just try and capture as many as I can.” We Were Once Wild is a collection of Skylar’s most recent works that focuses on the fleeting feeling of youth and the human relationship wit nature.
