Swingrest is a huge and fascinating nest born out of the imagination of the designer Daniel Pouzet: a round sofa that can be either placed on the floor or suspended in the air. The structure is characterized by pure materials and simple shapes and, above all, by the accurately studied details.
The base is made of Corian and consists of a simple tubular structure then covered in rope. The seat is fitted with a small side table that can be rotated up to 180°, yet the most elegant element is definitely the discrete suspension system.
This seat was originally conceived to decorate the large spaces of the villas in Dedon Island, the resort that Dedon created in Siargao (Philippines) and that was designed by Daniel Pouzet and his partner Jean Marie Massaud. Swingrest is a single piece of furniture designed to accommodate a large number of people. It can be placed in a terrace, in a veranda as well as in an indoor environment.
Available in a natural colour, the seat is equipped with a curtain that shades and protects from sun rays, but, at the same time, allows the view from the inside outwards. Swingrest manages to blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment, being it is a forest, a beach, or, more likely, your garden.
