For the first time in Italy the French artist Cyprien Gaillard will be featured at the Nicola Trussardi Foundation in Milan, with the exhibition Rubble and Revelation. The curator Massimiliano Gioni took care of this important event in the contemporary art scene that will have its opening to the public on the 13 November 2012.
The multi-award winner artist was born in 1980 in Paris, he studied in Lausanne and he is currently living in Berlin.
Cyprien Gaillard travels the world like an archeologist looking for contemporary monuments that have lost their symbols. Then the artist documents their life in detail and explores their gradual disappearance. He roams from continent to continent reporting pieces, ruins and relics through different channels: photos, videos, sculptures, collages.
His artworks have been featured in personal exhibitions and projects at the world’s most famous museums including Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris (2011, 2008); the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin (2011); the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern in London (2009) and MoMA in New York (2010).
