Tsolmandakh Munkhuu was born in Mongolia and moved to to France in 2005 where she studied at Atelier Chardon Savard. In 2010, she has won the Public Award of the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival. Later on in 2010, Tsolo Munkh was invited to present her first collection at Mc” showroom in le Marais along with other great designers such as Alexandre Vauthier Manish Arora and Peachoo Krejberg.
Further on the year, in January 2011, Tsolo created two exclusive Swarosvki dress for the Fall and Winter 2011/2012 ‘Wings of Fantasy’ collection. In February, Tsolo created a handcrafted installation in Linen and partnered up with The Master of Linen for the Premier Vison Tradefair. In late February, Tsolo was invited to 080 Barcelona Fashion Week and shooted a short film called ‘Tsolo’ which is directed by Philippe Prouff and Produced by Walter Films in June 2011. One year later, Tsolo launched her first menswear collection SS2013 which is presented in Paris and New York at Taiss Gallery.
Her designs are inspired by Mongolian and Buddhist traditional elements which she has taken from the natural world around her. Her creations combine different elements from different countries such as embroidery, paintings and her use of ample volumes contrast with the cut’s fluidity.
Tsolmandakh Munkhuu now based in Oulan Bator where she presents her collection during Paris fashion weeks. For further details, visit +CRISTOFOLIPRESS
